Unconventional Career Path: How My Son Found a Job He Loves

My 19-year-old son chose he was going to “soup up” his Mitsubishi. My son graduated from high school a year ago. While he wished to go to school, he took a year off to find exactly what he really loves. The Mitsubishi engine was on a makeshift pulley, the car was covered in primer, and he read online mechanic blog sites in his spare time. I was sure he found his passion. He just wasn’t sure how to make the next step.

 

One day I took my Subaru to my mechanic for a tune-up. I told him about my son and asked him for advice about his car. He offered to interview my son and see if he could work in the shop so he could learn about cars. I was amazed that our local auto repair garage was willing to take a chance on my son, and I ran home to tell him as soon as possible! Continue reading
